In the UK, we each spend an average £200 each year on our gardens. That’s a whole lotta cash that could be used to make our green spaces green in the eco-friendly sense – by growing plants to organic standards, using compost instead of chemical fertiliser and deploying natural pest controls instead of going crazy with pesticides.
